End: 06/23/2012 - 1:00pm

A new ride for the ESV this year, the Whitmore Pool ride will appeal to riders of all levels of ability. Plan to check in at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 23 at the Whitmore Pool, located south of Mammoth on the Benton Crossing Road (aka “The Green Church Road).

"Race Against Yourself" - Time Trial Series #2

Start: 06/28/2012 - 5:15pm

End: 06/28/2012 - 7:00pm

Second verse, same as the first...

We'll be holding the second TT of the season on the Benton Crossing Road (aka "the Green Church") for a relatively short effort against the clock. Riders that participated with the June 14 adventure (into a stiff head wind) will be able to better their time against the clock.

Bridgeport Ride

Start: 07/01/2012 - 9:00am

End: 07/01/2012 - 2:00pm

Sunday: Bridgeport
Meet: Bridgeport Park, behind the County Courthouse
Time: 8:30
Ride Leaves 9:00

We will leave from the Park on School Street and follow Highway 182 north out to Sweetwater Summit about 22 miles where we will have a feed station. Some will return from this point while others may ride another 10 miles and turn around at Road NF150.

This ride follows a river valley in farmland and has a long and gradual climb after 18 miles up to Sweetwater Summit. The return is easier, but is sometimes subject to a headwind near the Bridgeport Reservoir.

"Race Against Yourself" - Time Trial Series #3

Start: 07/12/2012 - 5:30pm

End: 07/12/2012 - 7:00pm

For this week's TT, we are considering a new course out behind Sunny Slopes on quiet, buttery roads. This TT would be an "out-n-back", heading down to the Crowley Lake Dam, then returning back to the start. A rolly, downhill first half, then a rolly, uphill second half. It's a fairly short course of 6 miles.

Plan to meet and park just past Tom's Place at 5:30 pm, at the corner of Rock Creek Road and Crowley Lake Drive. There's ample parking there, and we'll pedal to the start/finish line a short distance away in Sunny Slopes.

"The Grand Boucle" Ride (aka "the Bishop/Benton/Crowley/Bishop" century)

Start: 07/15/2012 - 7:00am

End: 07/15/2012 - 3:00pm

This is a new ride for the ESV this year, and it should be a dandy! We'll meet at the Fendon's house (directions provided upon sign up) and be ready to roll by 7:00am to beat the heat. The long route will see riders traveling up highway 6, though Chalfant/Benton/Crowley Lake/ and back to Bishop. The loop is a shade over 100 miles, so let's call it a century. We've chosen this counter-clockwise direction to avoid the (typical) afternoon headwinds on hwy 6 in the afternoon. Instead, we'll descend back into Bishop on the buttery surface of Old Hwy 395 (Swall Meadows/Paradise/Mill Pond).
