Welcome to Eastside Velo Cycling Club

Highlights of the 2013 Mammoth Fall Century & Gran Fondo

2014 Fall Century & Gran Fondo is Coming Soon - Don't Miss it!

The Mammoth Fall Century & Gran Fondo is coming soon on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 in Mammoth Lakes, CA.  The Mammoth Mountain Prologue Time Trial will be one day earlier on Friday, September 5th.  Each year, Eastside Velo members volunteer in large numbers to help put this ride on and many more of them actually do the ride.

We are asking all Eastside Velo members to sign-up to volunteer to help make this ride happen again this year and also we are asking all ESV members to consider doing the ride regardless of whether they choose to do the Gran Fondo, Century, Medio or Piccolo, invite their local and out-of-town cycling friends to join them and also consider doing the Friday "Mammoth Mountain Prologue Time Trial."

This is a great event for road cycling in Mammoth Lakes as it brings a lot of cyclists to our area to experience our great riding and outdoor activities and an economic benefit to our communities as they all shop in local stores, eat in local restuarants and stay in local hotels and campgrounds.  Plus,...all net proceeds of this event support the charitable activities of the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation.

Safe and Responsible Riding Practices

05/20/2014, 5:15pm PDT
By Eastside Velo

We are encouraging our members to use the roads responsibly

Whenever you are riding, please ride as far to the right as is safe and practical.  If you are on roads with bike lanes, please use them.  If you are on roads that do not have bike lanes, again, please ride as far to the right as is safe and practical and if you are riding in a group, whenever traffic approaches from behind you or in-front of you, please move into a single-file riding formation as far to the right as possilbe.  These riding practices will help cars pass us more easily and it is a courtesy most of us would appreciate if we were driving in a car and encountered a group of cyclists.  Thank you for riding safely and responsibly.  Eastside Velo

SAFE AND LAWFUL RIDING PRACTICES - A quick note, if you're riding in a group on a road with no bike lane, whenever a car approaches from behind you or in-front of you, you must ride single-file as far to the right of the road as is practical.  This is a great video shared with us by the Marin County Bicycling Coalition.

Umm,...not exactly what the sign guys had in-mind?
