Welcome to Eastside Velo Cycling Club

SAFE AND LAWFUL RIDING PRACTICES - A quick note, if you're riding in a group on a road with no bike lane, whenever a car approaches from behind you or in-front of you, you must ride single-file as far to the right of the road as is practical.  This is a great video shared with us by the Marin County Bicycling Coalition.

Safe and Responsible Riding Practices

05/20/2014, 5:15pm PDT
By Eastside Velo

We are encouraging our members to use the roads responsibly

Whenever you are riding, please ride as far to the right as is safe and practical.  If you are on roads with bike lanes, please use them.  If you are on roads that do not have bike lanes, again, please ride as far to the right as is safe and practical and if you are riding in a group, whenever traffic approaches from behind you or in-front of you, please move into a single-file riding formation as far to the right as possilbe.  These riding practices will help cars pass us more easily and it is a courtesy most of us would appreciate if we were driving in a car and encountered a group of cyclists.  Thank you for riding safely and responsibly.  Eastside Velo

Mammoth Gran "Fundo"
  • 8:00am (PDT) Ical_event_icon
  • The Village at Mammoth
  • In preparation for the Mammoth Fall Century and Gran Fondo (September 6), the ESV is hosting a “tune up” ride to assist cyclists with getting some miles under their bibs.  This ride is replacing the “Reverse Century” from previous years with a route that is closer to home that provides more route and support options.

Similar to the Gran Fondo, the “Fundo” will start and end in Mammoth Lakes in the Village, rolling out at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 2.  Although mileage and route options vary, the 103 mile option will head out the Scenic Loop, head south to Crowley Lake Drive, on to the Crowley Lake Dam.  From there we’ll retrace our route up to the Benton Crossing Road, then head east to the Wildrose Summit where we’ll turn around and head back to Mammoth.  Check out the map on the right side of this page for detailed route information, including elevation gains.

Some riders will endeavor to complete the entire “Fundo” route, while others will opt for various “out and back” options.  Whatever distance you choose, we’ll have an aid station conveniently located with snacks and beverages to keep you pedaling strong.  In addition, along the way are enticing stops (e.g., the Eastside Bakery, Tom’s Place restaurant and store) for rest and fueling options.

We hope that you will join us for this ride!  Please RSVP below so that we may adequately prepare for the event.  You will receive a confirmation e-mail with additional ride details. Thanks!
